Spend your
layover in Maine
We are thrilled to announce our next Layover is in Waldoboro, Maine, at Tops’l Farm from August 10th - 13th, 2026.
At the root of every Layover event is community and connection, and Layover: Maine will be no exception. Taking place in coastal Maine, we'll gather for an elevated outdoor retreat. Think: summer art camp but with glamping and farm-to-table food. We'll spend our days painting in nature and our nights by the fire with s'mores and good conversation. This event will be skills-focused, with multiple workshops each day centered around plein air painting—refining skills like composition, outdoor lighting, and design to amplify your work.
Level up your artistry, take action on your business goals, and deepen in community with a supportive crew of people who get it. Layover: Maine is all about expansion. Retreat, relax, reimagine, and reemerge inspired and ready to take action. Our limited number of tickets will go live in the fall.
The Hosts
-
Danielle Jordaan
For Danielle Jordaan, painting is akin to journaling — an intimate and personal process that reflects her experiences and observations. She seeks to capture the often-overlooked beauty in everyday life, focusing on the intricate details of ordinary objects and quiet spaces. Drawing inspiration from her passion for plein air painting, Jordaan’s work celebrates life’s subtle moments and the serenity found in the familiar. She is particularly drawn to the domestic interior, exploring how these intimate spaces can evoke a sense of warmth, nostalgia, and connection. Through her art, Jordaan invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find meaning in the world around them.

He received a BA in History from Gordon College in Wenham, MA in 1989 and studied fine art at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, CT from 1991-1995. At the Academy he received training in the Beaux Arts tradition of drawing and painting from life.
Eric's true inspiration is the amazing beauty that he sees in nature. Jacobsen is a “Plein Air” painter. He takes his oils wherever he goes, setting up on site, working until his painting is finished. -
